You’re Never too old to…
The British novelist and poet C.S Lewis famously declared that you are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream. Our passive acceptance toward aging and the consent to its traditional limitations could soon be a thing of the past – chiefly thanks to modern medicine, an improved quality of living and changing attitudes around retirement. We must continue to buck conventional wisdom and confidently affirm – you’re never too old to:
- Keep fit, strong and healthy
- Loose weight or gain weight (if needed)
- Play a new sport
- Swim in the sea
- Learn to surf
- Take long walks on the beach
- Make new friends
- Catch up with long-lost friends
- Start a book club, motor-bike ‘gang’ or some other social group
- Forgive, after a lifelong grudge
- See more of your kids and grandkids
- Publish those photographs
- Volunteer in our local community
- Hit the backpacker trails
- Learn a new language
- Start a business
- Change careers
- Work part-time for the love of the job
- Rock n roll
- Eat out
- Have a wine or 3
- Learn how to dance
- Learn to cook new and exciting dishes
- Go to a live music concert
- Keep the flair alive in the bedroom
- Meet someone new
- Move on after the loss of a loved one
- Read a series of novels
- Have your opinion heard
- Own a cat, dog or pigeon (if that’s what floats your boat)
- Get stuck into a bit of DIY around the house
- Buy that vintage car you’ve always wanted (but the wife never let you)
- Plant a tree, or build a garden
- Write a book
